In my previous blog I mentioned we would be producing a City Cows You Tube video to commemorate the many colours of natural cowhide. These numerous colours of cowhide got me thinking about a rainbow of different colours and from there it was a quick trip in my mind to thinking about the classic song sung by Judy Garland in the Wizard of Oz. So here it is together with a more upbeat modern take on the same tune by the group Hit Nation.

So how are they made what is the process that brings the final cow hide product to your home. To help explain the process I’ve just found a lovely little video on You Tube which shows the process of how leather is made from cow hides I hope you enjoy it.

If you are looking for something a little bit different why not consider a cowhide footstool, which will compliment the layout of any room.  These funky looking footstools are proving to be quite a hit, not only for the look but also for the many uses that they can be put to.

To start with you should try to keep it away from direct sunlight as with all soft furnishings to keep the cowhide in great condition.

If you have young children it may be a good to keep it away from where they eat.  This would be applicable to any type of carpet with a similar texture to cowhide but due to the nature of it any spillages are easily wiped away with a damp sponge.
